Taking Rodenberry away from the helm in the late 80's was the right decision. I doubt Star Trek would still exist in any form if he'd had the final say on the direction of the show. He hated conflict between characters and so much of what DS9 went on to do.

I think he wanted Star Trek to be more dramatic like Game of Thrones in space. So it seems kinda weird that he would hate conflict between characters.
Did he explain why?

Allies and societies that you have an armistice with would make for good drama without having the internal crew go at it.

SNW is the most Star Trek of all the new Star Treks. And it does bring back that feeling. If anything you can just watch for Uhura.

i'll try to give it a go. I did watch the first couple eps of S1 when it premiered...but stopped, couldn't get into it at the time.

I also heard Prodigy wasn't bad and wasn't really a "kids" show either. Might look into that

You're really missing out on not watching Prodigy.

Decent end to Lower Decks and I'm sure it's not the last we'll see of the crew. I did expect to see

Worf & Riker given that the Ent-E & the Titan were there. Second time we've had the E show up in recent years and no crew in sight!

Not much Trek to come next year. The S31 abomination and S3 of SNW. Academy won't be until 2026 along with S4 of SNW.

i'll take a look at prod. some new Janeway is always cool, was just a little that it was promoted as a Nick cartoon at first.

They cancelled Discovery right when it was getting good but now we get Academy. The show no one asked for.

The S31 is gonna be disappointing because that's supposed to be a Black Ops spy organization. Mad intrigue on the ship and in the field. Show just looks like all they gonna do is blow up shyt.
