It’s called a fictional story. It will continue to change and have layers added on or subtracted as long as it’s around. You read comic books, how or why is any of this new or upsetting?
Peter Parker is real. No the peter Parker you’ve been reading about for 30 years isn’t the real peter Parker. He was cloned 20 years ago we just didn’t tell you.
Mary Jane Watson has known he was Spider-Man all along because she saw him leave one night while looking out her window even tho we never mentioned it before and she never hinted that she knew.
I mean I can go on and on and on. shyt the court of owls is one of the greatest Batman stories ever told and it’s a giant retcon to the Batman origin and the death of Bruce’s parents.
Writers should have the freedom to play around with history and bend things that are undefined and add their own shyt to it. It doesn’t always work, everything doesn’t always stick, but you give them the reign to tell their story the way they want. If you don’t like it, someone else will come along to change it
