:picard: @ the way the beast thing savaged the security officer...

Security officers = new red shirts

So this ship is doing Black Ops shyt for the Federation, hence the reason why they didn't go back to the colony and save anyone?

The Klingon stuff is pretty shyt.
I haven't seen the most recent episode but I really feel they should have left the design alone and it's to many subtitles. In past trek they did a good job of mixing English and klingon but with the subtitles it takes away from the actors performance.

4th episode is the best episode the series so far. The shyt keeps improving just in character and writing and doing a lot of good stuff. The Klingon stuff is kind of a story black hole just because it's not the most interesting right now but it has potential based on the way this episode ended.

For real I'm loving this series. I watched quite a few episodes of Voyager here and there in the past and likewise with Enterprise and DS9, was a Star Trek casual; but about a year ago I sat down and watched TNG all the way thru and then got on to DS9 properly, still watching those, then gonna do Voyager properly also.

This new show is perfect for non-Trekkies! Was telling my missus today to give it a go; I like that it's following a story and not random episode format like the others. All characters so far have been engaging in some way and visually it's fantastic.

This really could give birth to a new generation of Trekkies and fukk any old cac fans with this "too exciting" bull shyt!

Nothing wrong with trek being exciting the problem imo is they aren't acting like humans from this time frame they are acting like humans from present getting dropped off in the 23rd century. Also both ds9 and enterprise has had season long story archs but I been a trek fan since I was a kid so I guess I fall into the older trek crowd and no I'm not a cac lol.

I hear you breh, cac reference wasn’t personal, I saw a quote someone posted earlier that just had me like :gucci:

I literally saw someone seriously arguing that the show was "too exciting" in a comment section.

And you probably right about longer story arcs; I’m only a couple seasons into DS9 and I’ve also started Enterprise from the beginning too so I’ll see. TNG had the Borg antagonists in later seasons.

I loved TNG and Picard - no word of a lie, he got me drinking Earl Grey tea just cause I had to try it after he was always hitting up the synthesiser for it! I was almost hoping for Lorca to say “Engage” on that first jump!

You said you weren’t feeling the Klingons - gotta admit they’re looking a lot more “alien” than the TNG/DS9 era. What’s your thoughts?

So far the Klingons are the only thing I still don't like about this show. From design to their behavior I am just not feeling anything they have done with them yet.
The subtitles are hurting the actors performance usually they would have them speak Klingon to set the mood then switch to English I liked that better personally.
