- Talks about his first time as an NBA Assistant coach
- Was a College basketball coach for 10+ years
- Coached a basketball camp of players trying to make the Miami Heat roster, blown away by all the talent in the gym
- Then Pat Riley and another coach comes in and says "Well there's nobody here than can play for us. Yeah it's a little disappointing"
- Stan Van Gundy hearing this like :gucci::mjtf: :damn: :dahell::lupe: "Are you fukking kidding me"

Making the NBA must be the hardest job you can ever get :dead::dead::dead:

It's no wonder they get paid the big bucks with $100 million in endorsements. You got players in the G League trying to make an NBA roster for years and can't make it, and guarantee would bust every single person on the Coli's ass in a 1 on 1. shyt crazy

I mean, I’ve seen guys in high school who never missed a shot in open gyms yet they weren’t gonna be good enough to play at a D1 school. I don’t think people really realize how much basketball talent there is in the world in general, and there’s only been around 5000 people who have EVER played in the NBA. It’s damn near frightening to think of how good you have to be to even get a real tryout in the league.

Anyone who ever played against a no-name D1 guard in pickup would tell you on some dragon ball z shyt it's like a regular human thinkin they can run the fade with Krillin or Yamacha.

Seeing someone casually drop 50 shooting 80-90% off one-dribble pullup 3s and mid range jumpers.. that's how helpless the joe-schmoes are

Even the more seasoned gym rats dont have the technical skills to come close to that efficiency

Sam Young came to the gym regular students use (Trees Hall) when I was at Pitt. He played against my team in pickup. That was the first time I really noticed the gap in talent between dudes playing pickup and D1 hoopers.

A 6 and 2 guy in the NBA was the second coming of Stephen Curry out there. Dude would not miss

here's what i know about SVG:

-got his ass ran out of ORL
-got his ass ran out of DET
-got his ass ran out of NOLA
-was nicknamed the "master of panic" by shaq
-proved shaq right by making adjustments to how his team played BEFORE the series began against the 2010 boston celtics, resulting in a loss

Pitt was a problem back then. Sam wasn't crazy athletic, but I thought that he would have a longer NBA career if he worked hard. Matt Barnes played in the league for a long time, and I never thought that he would get more than a 10 day when he was at UCLA. Those spots at the end of the roster may just boil down to being at the right place, at the right time.

Agree…. The game today is harder to get in than it’s ever been.

I go back and look at some of them rosters from 84-98.

And there are a lot of guys that starter who wouldn’t be starters in the NBA today…. Yet alone probably make a roster today.

Gelo Ball who so many on the coli love to shyt on and say he can’t play in the NBA. Could’ve started for the 1988 Clippers roster :skip:

Talk about a very useless post.
