I agree with Stan Lee 100%. There are a plethora of black characters they can use to help diversify there lineup, instead of using black replacements. Even if they might take a monetary hit it would look better for their image. I think DC is doing a better job with this like pushing up cyborg to the JL.

I don't think it has to be either or. Older characters can be re-imagined and if it makes sense, their race/gender/whatever can change unless those characteristics were crucial to their identity. Having Miles Morales does not mean that Peter Parker does not exist anymore. Having different people be Batman did not eliminate Bruce Wayne. What if a Robin was black and became Batman eventually? At the same time, it would be great to push new characters that are minorities instead of being lazy and using an established brand. It is a bigger statement if you create a minority character from scratch and make him/her a legend.
