yeah, we start on the empty bar too (except for deadlifts and BBrow where we're suppose to start at 90 i think) and we add 5 pounds every session on each exercise (except on deadlifts we add 10 pounds every session)If you can pull it off try and see what comes out of it. But squatting 3 times a week with 80% of max weight is some crazy shyt. I dont know why they are pushin this shyt to such extreme.
I remember when I started I did something like this (listing only core exercises):
A.
Bench press 5x5 (80% of max)
Squat 5x5 (50%)
B.
Deadlift 5x5 (80%)
Push press 3x8
C.
Squat 5x5 (80%)
Bench press (50%)
Additionally there were one-two heavy compound exercises. We started this shyt with empty barbells .
Even this program eventually led to disproportion. I wasnt able to increase weight in exercises on upper body but this fukking squat continued to grow.
The program you listed will certainly give you gains if you will eat shytloads of food. The gains will be concentrated below your waistline.
so my squats and deads i've added 30 pounds every 2 weeks while all the rest i've added 15 pounds every two weeks.
as far as gains, it's kinda hard to measure on me cause i'm more on the overweight side. i lost some fat, i can definitely see it on my legs, my thighs are like a different shape slightly. lost some face fat. my upperbody looks the same to me but people who haven't seen me in a while ask me if i'm lifting and say i look different. but i think these might be newbie results.
i think another reason they spend so much time on squats and deads is that you will feel drained the most from them and probably burn more fat. when i come back from the gym i eat like CRAZY cause i'm so hungry and then i feel sleepy like i could sleep for four 5 hours. yet i'm still losing fat slowly. but it's hard for me to judge my muscle gains cause i still have some fat over them. i'd like to know what ectos who are on the program think about it.
EDIT: forgot to add, i'm following the program pretty much and dude says to keep following the plan til you reach about 1.5 bodyweight for 5X5 on squats. then he has an intermediate level program. i forgot what the intermediate looks like so i don't know if it has less lowerbody lifts.
