nope. It's just a love for SquareSoft not Square Enix. As far as I'm concerned, those are 2 different companies.

Sorry they arent. Square is using its money from Squaresoft and combining it with another company to help publish more classics. They've branched out of just making RPG and you know what friend, im glad.

Squaresoft from 90's to about 02 were untouchable in the JRPG market. Then this happened:

I appreciate the games Squaresoft gave us but Square Enix is trash. Other than TWEWY they've released nothing but trash. You use to expect nothing but quality games from now you're lucky if the game is even worth playing.

They've made some great rpgs in the past. I haven't really checked them out since I transitioned to pc gaming years ago but they were definitely one of the best.

yeah man, square and capcom are some of the gaming companies that i grew up on so they'll always be to me. these #newgamers need to show some class and respect the pioneers of this.

I just looked up what Uematsu has been doing these days and he's been working on nothing but iOS games.

The same Uematsu who gave us countless classic tunes for over 20 years, stuck on iPhone games.
