Chris Paul Will Re-Sign With Rockets, Focused On Recruiting LeBron James
JUN 19, 2018 11:09 AM

Chris Paul is expected to re-sign with the Houston Rockets this offseason and he has become more focused on recruiting LeBron James to the franchise.

"His focus has been to stay in Houston all along," said Adrian Wojnarowski on ESPN's Monday night draft coverage. "Unless Houston blinked and sort of changed course on the kind of financial commitment, length of deal, that I think they thought they would do all along. They have shown no indication in Houston of not following through on the kind of big deal Chris Paul expected when he opted in and got traded there.

"You know, Chris is going to return there. Right now, his focus isn't so much on his own free agency, he's trying to recruit LeBron James to Houston. Somebody close to him said to me, 'He is as focused on recruiting LeBron as anything he's done in this league. He wants to find a way.'

"You know Daryl Morey in Houston is always big game hunting. They love the ability to make changes with their roster and cap, be creative. If LeBron said he wanted to come to Houston, they can find a way to make it happen."

The Cleveland Cavaliers could potentially trade for Kemba Walker.

Walker will be entering the final season of his current contract with the Charlotte Hornets.

The Hornets have been stuck between the playoffs and rebuilding over the past few seasons.

The Cavaliers had interest in Walker at the trade deadline.

Cleveland's most attractive asset is the No. 8 overall pick.

LeBron James' Camp Has Remained In Touch With Cavaliers
JUN 19, 2018 10:46 AM

James_LeBron_cle_180611.jpg

The camp of LeBron James has remained in contact over the phone and in person with the Cleveland Cavaliers since the end of The Finals more than a week.

James has not been present for any of the meetings and there has not been any real dialogue as far as his future.

James himself has yet to make a decision on his future. If James decides to use his opt-in to be traded to another franchise, the Cavaliers would have to participate.

The Cavaliers have been looking to upgrade their team whether James re-signs or leaves.

This isn’t the nfl draft where you can get great players in every round once you get to the late lotto mid first round the number of players from their who even make it to their second contract is a small percentage so moving up to a top 5 pick is extremely hard.

People point to the Donovan Mitchell’s and yes stars have come from later in the draft but that’s such a small percentage.

The NBA Draft is rapidly approaching, and after months of speculating and projecting, by the end of Thursday night we’ll finally at least know where 60 of the top prospects are going to play next season.

The top of the draft is always the most intriguing, as that’s where teams are really hoping to find the next superstar that can change their franchise’s fortunes — although, expectations for top 10 players is often too high. With Deandre Ayton almost assuredly going No. 1, the focus of this year’s draft is on the Nos. 2-5 picks, where the Kings, Hawks, Grizzlies, and Mavs will be looking to add a star of the future, while avoiding any potential land mines.

Of the group those teams will be considering, Mohamed Bamba is the one that seemingly presents the widest array of possibilities for his pro career. He is, physically, as unique a player as we’ve seen in this era of incredible unicorns with a 7’10 wingspan, incredible quickness and leaping ability that have many salivating at his potential. However, there are questions about his game as of right now and whether he can tap into that sky high potential, or if he’ll remain a raw, flawed player with incredible measurables.

Many teams in the top 5 have reason to consider Bamba, but he is also trying to dictate his future by apparently shutting out Memphis from any and all pre-draft information on him. ESPN and DraftExpress’ Jonathan Givony went on 92.9 ESPN radio in Memphis on Tuesday and said Bamba has refused to workout or give his medical information to the Grizzlies, going so far as to tell them point blank he doesn’t want to be in Memphis.
