Spooooooky!!! Anyone else feel like we're in eerily similar times today as we were in 2007-2008. Only top 20% have more savings than pre Covid

i'm getting less and less in favor of this because these fed policies for the "middle income" pretty much screw "middle income" earners in high COL areas/states.

Better no one gets help than some? I feel where you’re coming from - but I’m trying to look st this from the perspective of the entire nation. Low/middle income spending drives a healthy chunk of our economy.

not when it hurst my pockets :yeshrug: i'm all for helping the low income tho, but the whole concept of "middle" income is nebulous. too many policies hurting people like me both from the left (considered rich, so lets tax em) and right (rich enough to tax more as we cut taxes for the truly wealthy)

Yeah it’s definitely a weird position to be in trying to explain to people that 6 figures doesn’t go very far when your housing costs are 2-3x the “norm” and then you’re paying insane state/local taxes on top. Chicago been raising every possible tax nonstop the last 4/5 years and scheduled only to get worse - at same time deduction for state/local taxes eliminated smh
