Spin: What's the point of fighting?

The point of the thread is what is the point of fighting unless you are going to make money. You have been given reasons that you are not accepting and now you are arguing with leaves instead of looking at the tree. There is a time to backdown and there is a time to fight. This is not the same for everyone but from my perspective (and i only speak for myself) it comes from certain forms of disrespect on up to defending my life.

you also left out the part where it was asked, if you are going to fight, why not completely finish your opponent?

so somebody walks up to you, and out of nowhere slaps you with the dark skinned part of their hand, you have no gun...

It's true there are situations where a dude deserves to get beat down, but it's not worth the jail time/legal expenses for me in most cases.

Did that dude know you? Did he know where you stayed?

And a few years ago. Hmmmm. So in other words, if a situation like this occurs, its not very often. So why are brehs talking like these instances are so frequent + recurrent?

What would have happened had you not pummeled the dude? What was the danger that prompted administering physical harm?

He did not know me or know where i lived. I can only speak for myself not everyone else. These instances occur in life and some people let them slide, others dont. In this case, i didnt.

If i let it slide what would have happened is his mind thinking * i can do that to anyones woman i want in public and get away with it. He was already gloating with his friends when it seemed like we were going to leave it alone. He needed a lesson and he got one. Hopefully this will assist him in keeping his thoughts in his mind and not translating them into action. Action that resulted in him being brutalized and having a near death experience. You should have seen him when he realized he was going to pass out. So much panic. Its as close to death as you can get. Having a moment like that for a man is life altering and priceless and hopefully saved someone else from being demoralized by him in the future.

Especially if you're not getting paid for it? I see a thread lamenting the lack of fighting skills among the kids; I say, "so what?"

And there's disgust that they're quick to pull out guns? I'm sorry, but if you hate someone enough to fight him, why would you draw a line? Kill him if you have to and if you can.

Some people need to be taught a lesson, through pain and possibly near death. Alot of criminals find the errors of their ways when they get shot or stomped into a coma after words failed to persuade them to give up their lifestyle. Giving someone a righteous thrashing can have the same effect. Damn sure a lot more then talking. Some people are just animals and unfortunately animals dont understand words. They do understand whips, belts and rolled up newspapers though.

You are clearly the more soft feminine type, hence why you don't understand the need to fight in the face of significant disrespect, so there is no question that will satisfy your lack of understanding.

To a degree. I believe punching someone in the face can have the same effect. Not everyone is built to the level of a gang member psychologically. Some people are just bullies who have never been on the other side. Anyone ive put the beats too i feel deserved it and i also feel at that time they needed it.

breh, just stop... we already know you're the type to go to the park with your friend instead of watch sports.

you're gonna deem any form of fighting that's not for prize or self defense in life threatening situations as primitive.

you're the guy who watches as your boys step up and fight for you...then talk about how it wasn't worth it,nothing was accomplished, and how they ran the risk of legal action against you if you would have injured them.

Don't know if it has already been stated, but mainly it's for reputation. People want to be known as tough, don't take sh!t off of anybody. If somebody step to you, and you walk away, your rep goes down (people will call you scared). Most of the time, if nobody is around to witness a fight (to add to the rep of the victor), the fight won't go down. Winning a fight gives the winner a sense of dominance (I believe I saw mentioned earlier). Self-defense or defense of others is different.

The only time fighting makes sense is when your LIFE is on the line, or you KNOW you can win. Otherwise, its purely ratchet behavior.
