harrison was trash..he was beyond saving lol

I just threw him in there but seriously I think he could have won a title but his confidence was shattered early and he never recovered mentally not that he wasn’t frail already. Being moved (hidden) more carefully and maybe paired with a trainer like Manny Steward (sparring, training, championship environment) is important.

Audley had all the physical tools and he was a good boxer but man he was about as timid a fighter of his stature could be. Being a gold medalist is a huge accomplishment. He was the anti-Tyson. Opponents would see HE was intimidated and just gain unbelievable courage.

I'm gonna be biased here becuz he's my stepbrother but David Reid. That Trinidad fight not only ruined his career but ruined his life

Well you know him better than us but I always thought his eye was the problem. He said he had several surgeries on it and it didn’t help and opponents just started targeting it and he couldn’t get out of the way.

harrison was prolly the one fighter that dominick guinn didn't let his hands go against and still found a way to lose :heh:

Guinn was an inigma. Over 300 amateur fights. One thing he said told me a lot about him. He said when he faced opponents bigger than him he was scared shytless so he had to really take it to them in fear he would get ko’ed. Against opposition closer to his size he didn’t have that fear so he fought very lackluster because he didn’t feel the massive threat. This is why he didn’t let his hands go. Nothing more frustrating that fighter who doesn’t let hands go.

I'd change Roy Jones Jr for obvious reasons.

He never would've dropped back to LHW if it were up to me. Either he fights as a Heavy/Cruiser or he retires

Ike Quartey - He should've gotten the W from De La Hoya but I would've kept him active & made him the mando to either rematch or strip him. Or maybe steer him toward a Trinidad showdown if the rematch wasn't available

Panchito Bojado had a lot of intrinsic talent but was too undisciplined. Had Floyd Mayweather Sr. constantly upset with how flaky he was. I really think Floyd Sr. could’ve helped make dude a household name.

Michael Grant

bojado was just :smh:..mentally he wasn't ready..him and frankie gomez...one in the same...actually gomez was worse...man retired after getting a win over mauricio herrera and had his zero still

grant i thought was brought up correctly...his talent level just never matched his hype...but putting him in the ring with another big fighter in mccline after the lewis whoopin was not good matchmaking

Yeah, Bojado showing signs of having “it” factors as a fighter: would have in-ring discipline to not get reckless/resort to brawling, crazy punching power, very tanky, nice natural timing, Ryan Garcia-type of fluid/flexible heavy hands, etc. Dude simply thought and behaved like he was a world champion already and those journeymen fighters who know how to grind weren’t having it. Entitled attitudes do nothing for fighters because the competition is too tough and dangerous. Dude started gangbangin in his 20’s like wtf you doing?

I still remember the fight Lennox attended of Michael Grant right when he got dropped and they asked if Lewis wanted to fight him and he said “Yes!” Lewis knew it’d be only a matter of time because he had no jaw.
