I enjoyed the theme where
The Vietnamese people had no real problem with the brothers throughout the movie. Even going back to the radio show, yeah they were trying to lower morale but damn the lady was making a lot of sense.
Those old Shang Tsung dudes bought the Bloods a round just showing love. Then there's that dude trying to sell that chicken. He was pushy but he didn't go off until Paul started talking about gooks. Even then all he said was you killed my family
The breh who was their ride was the one who fought off the French dudes goons off with them and got their money out the country. If they had rolled with him and a bit of muscle from the beginning they would have been straight.
Instead they put their faith in the cac, same way the Vietnamese goons putting their faith in a French cac and went out like goons do. Woman even said the white officers taught them the n-word
That war never made sense for a black man. Trying to stop another group from liberating themselves from imperialist white rule while you fighting for your own freedom back home.

my boy was out there paagin 
only thing that bothered me was in nam they had their grey beards/hair. they couldn't even try to dye they shyt? temporary dye cost like $5, it was distracting. they didnt age or nothing, after a WAR? CMON.

it was distracting but I think it was done on purpose. It wasn’t supposed to be younger them in the war scenes.
at the end in the photo with norm you see them with makeup and different hairstyles as the younger them.

hows that possible? pretty sure there was an age cap during the draft. and ol boy had grown daughter looked over 20.
I think Spike didn't want to hire 4 more actors to play the younger versions of them.
Also, I was surprised at how good some of the action was.
What I mean is they were definitely younger than they were shown during the war. But Spike showed them in their current age during those flashbacks. Kinda how in some movies you have flashback/dream sequences where the person is in their current form not their younger self.
Not sure why he did it, artistic choice, not trusting a younger cast to deliver like the older, budget issues with the makeup/cgi or Younger cast. The last picture shown before the MLK speech at the end shows them with Norm in a picture. They are younger there than they are in the flashbacks. Black hair, Afros, no beard and faces morphed.

yea could be artistic choice, wasn't feeling it, I don't think a younger cast would have been needed, just a little dye or some wigs.
yeah as soon as the first war scene came up me and my girl were like wtf? He looks old as hell.
They still look old even though they’re trying to look young lol. Could’ve just used younger actors because it’s not like there was many scenes. I’m sure he will answer to it.

Going to watch the movie today.
But from historical context the french were first involved with trying to unify Vietnam. Then had backing from the US. The french say the hell with it cause they kept getting their asses kicked. The US steps and with the french telling them this ain't the war you want. These folks lead by Ho Chi Minh will fight you to the bitter end.

Why didn’t they just get younger actors for the flashbacks... That how they used to do things.
