The news isn't too surprising. The break between Season 1 and 2 was long, and I didn't see much buzz/promotion surrounding Season 2. It ended in a solid place for the character with no major cliff-hangers surrounding her.

I wanted this show to be a bigger success but I'm not surprised. The show was shot well, the soundtrack was pretty damn good but the issue here is the plot and writing. There was no consequence for her and no real take away here. She was just irresponsible and self fish and that's it, the end. The angle of her being an artist wasn't even that interesting to me as it should have been.

How do you turn down Captain Marvel for this :trash:? :mindblown:

She needs to fire whoever gave her that advice

She probably :to: right now because Marvel is the way to go. Someone must not have told her about the Disney deal LOL

Not shocked at all that this got the ax. Spike should’ve known better and season 2 was all over the place. Dude needs to be running his own indie studio and putting ass many black writers/filmmakers on as possible even if it means taking a $ loss on some of their projects. He can afford it.

But no way that easily one of his first movies stood a chance as a series. Even with them expanding the cast from the movie it just didn’t work as well when the shyt looked like Insecure: Fort Greene.

Wish the best to all of the actors but black cinema and the small screen stuff has to move past the relationship stuff and family sitcoms.

There’s better stuff out there.

I saw an actress in a play, "Familiar" here last month, she was very talented, and incredibly beautiful, Olivia Washington, she has a role in the new season.
Do you remember her role in the show? I don't remember seeing her lol
