If you saw Capt Marvel, I think there’s a chance Dewanda could play Maria’s daughter Monica who is a hero in the present timeline. I’m hoping that’s why she turned down playing Maria.

Nah I didn't see it yet but I just googled it and the same role you speak of is the one she originally had for Maria Rambeau, she stayed on to do She's Gotta Have it instead and Lashana Lynch was given the role.
Hopefully you're right and they consider her for the role of Maria's daughter instead in the future but I don't know. Are Marvel and Disney forgiving like that and willing to give her another opportunity? I'm not sure but it would be nice for her to get a second shot especially if she makes sense for the role.
well Monica is only a kid in Capt Marvel because it takes place in the 90s and there's no flash forwards so unless they changed the script, she was up for Maria and the blogs just figured she was up for Monica because she's Carol's best friend

Puerto Rico looks way too lit.
Love the Lucumi influences and undertones they put in it with the Oshun in the living room and the mom feeding the ancestors. Dope!
Fat Joe's character however is a little bit too over the top, too unrealistic.

I kinda find it hard seeing them doing a season 3, Mainly because if they do it'll break away
from the true essence of what this (Movie) tv show is/was.
As far as season 2 goes to me it was meh, I'll just chalk this up to being a ''transition'' season

Liked the first episode and man she is so chocolate I’d probably freeze up if I seen her in person
The Puerto Rico episode with the twist was FIRE. Best ep of season 2 so far
IMO episode 6 is the best of season 2.
The Puerto Rico episode is a close second to me.

Just finished this season and overall I thought it was cool but the writers should have did way more and I thought it had potential to be even better then this especially considering the wait for it. I mean Nola still has yet to encounter any real consequences for her actions and even
.
Overall I guess this show is supposed to show you her finding her way on her own terms and we may not agree with them but they are her ways none the less. As others pointed out she dated those three guys and didn't want to commit or be monogamous to any of them due to her insecurity and the fact she had walls up, however I wonder why they were up in the first place and I wish this show would have explored why. She was into polyamory and did it under the guise of being free and liberated though the truth is she was scared of commitment and she is selfish.
The strengths of this show to me are the cinematography, the music and even some of the actors do a real dope job. I love seeing the Lucumi/Santeria undertones, the show makes Brooklyn look dope and I also like the fact they put the homie behind the Protect Yo Heart campaign aka Uncutt Art in there (he's the dude who has his face all covered. I seen his work all through out the city on sidewalks and shyt so it's dope they put him in this). However as I said before with all the potential this story could have it just falls flat for me. The actual plot seems to move a little too slow for Nola character development wise and it just floats around with out a real aim in mind. I feel like something is missing that could take the story where it should be, maybe they should get better writers for the next season perhaps if it does come back but improvement is needed with this plain and simple.

Episode 3 gave me series He got game flash backs with the
whole Coney Island set up and them on the boardwalk, but specifically the fact that after the argument she’s left on the Ferris wheel alone at the end which is the reverse of Shuttlesworth first action of the movie happening on the Ferris wheel
