My bad. I was probably thinking of the dude playing Da Mayor. Someone was repping the Dominican hard. Either way, I liked him and his weird priestess sister. He was Rican.

Who was making those G signs though? Was it Papo or was it Nola? Why didn't Papo just chill on Lola's steps. Why did he have to stay on that white ladies stoop? Was it his ptsd?
You are correct. I liked MARS as well.

Did the scene about gentrification and the meetings represent what’s happening in the neighborhood now? Just trying to see how true they scene was.As a life long Clinton Hill/ Ft Greene resident, it was cool to see my little part of Brooklyn which I’ve lived all my life get attention. It was annoying when they were filming this as they took away blocks of parking but I digress, the show was good but I found some of the acting over the top. Mars was meh, the French dude wasn’t convincing as a heart throb, and Nola, she shyts on everyone and gets away with it. And it’s not a male/female thing, she just represents the modern dating scene: where everyone is out for only themselves and use people how they see fit. And then we got the simps who fall for this crap.
I mean if you want to say it’s reversal of societal views? Men acting like women and women who act like men because they think acting like what they think men act like gives them some sort of advantage from getting “played” instead of being accountable for whatever misfortunes happen to their love lives.
It was a good show though..
yep, for the black hipster generation its perfect timing. Half of the eps of the show are for the "femenist" demographic
It was Papo... they insinuated it when they zoomed in on the G on his lil shopping cart...Who was making those G signs though? Was it Papo or was it Nola?
Spike has the themes he just needs to work with younger talent to make the execution more realistic. This is why this show is a mess and chiraq was a mess. This is why shows like Insecure actually work.
Spikes latest work look good due to technology but they are all missing what made his early work good. Right now Spike appears to be disconnected with the ground level of things.
At first i thought i was just being a man that simply didnt understand some of the stuff in thos show but even my girl felt it was trash.
