At the beginning of mean streets
Some of my Dominican brothers can make a decent living selling "Frio Frio" for a couple of pesos out in Santiago. So maybe he has a point. Not sure why all of this bothers him though, he is a classic capitalist who instead of looking for funding for a film project (and having to pay back) is now on Kickstarter with a plea that he doesn't get enough support. A slick move by someone who wants to pocket it all to himself and the only obligation is to deliver on the movie.

So this whole nonsense of NYC getting too expensive for some really doesn't sound right coming from him. He doesn't exactly have any ideas and is just talking.

And he's the same one who remade a classic, Oldboy, with a basically 90% white cast, he can miss me with that bullshyt.

As much as I dislike some of Spike Lee's comments, he is right. Why are people arguing against his stance? It is true, gentrification is happening everywhere. Look at LA, inglewood and south central is definitely changing. nikkas is moving to the outskirts of vegas and shyt. Watts around USC is changing and people are forced to move out. Look at SF, Tenderloin and Richmond district used to be full of black people, a lot of them gone. Forced to move to Alameda and Richmond.

I can't believe some of you are arguing against facts.

NYC heads tell me something though. I'm always reading about how the black population in NYC is declining.

Where the fukk are they going?

shyt is cray, neighborhoods I remember having a nice size of middle income blacks, as a kid, have almost completely transformed in a span of about 5-6 years. And I'm not even talking about South LA, instead the Mid City / Miracle Mile area, near LA High...

The DMV, Atlanta, North Carolina, and Latinos move to Florida.

Yeah, lots of Ricans in Orlando. I am also seeing more moving to Houston too. Seen a few chics on dating sites from the NYC that moved her, In fact, one of my homeboys went on a date with one a few weeks ago. Moving South is making more sense. Its not perfect but its getting better. The demographics is changing everywhere. Its the great re-migration. Black people in Cali need to consider moving...the population is scarce and it seems like things are only getting tougher for black folks over there.

Yeah bro that's exactly the area I was talking about. The homes between Pico and Wilshire, used to be mainly "middle income" blacks. I swear I went driving one day, a couple years back, and it dawned me that I didn't see a single black person. :wtf: :damn:
