you just said a bunch of nothing lol

the general conscious = The Help was an excellent movie

you said "goin round like they slaves"...would you have rather they glamorized and sugar coated it? should they have had the whites treating the black women like angels? it was reality bruh, blacks been getting dogged the fukk out.

I'm not defending the firing of Spike Lee or anything. I don't really give a fukk about this entire situation honestly, I just want you guys to stop pretending The Help wasn't a good flick :childplease:

The general CONENSUS came from a bunch of cracka ass crackas, so of course The Help is considered an "excellent movie" by them. Any time you have white people telling a story about Black people, it'll get positive reviews. Nine times out of ten, whenever you get a Black person telling a story about Black people, it'll get negative reviews. And whenever you get a Black producer telling a story about white people, well, wait, hold up... :to:

Probably got fired for delaying the production. I know he stated in interviews that he was saving the role for Wesley Snipes as his come back role when he was released from prison..

SMH.. Anyone that doesn't think Spike would have directed an honest portrayal of James Brown has probably never seen a Spike Lee movie. Hell, You don't even have to watch all of his movies to see how honest he is.. Do The Right Thing is the most honest movie dealing with race/racism ever..

I don't mind a white director doing it.. My problem is that white directors tend to show things from THEIR perspective and it tends to candycoat the way things really are or were. If it's an honest movie.. partly because they are ignorant and clueless to the "black struggle"..

If the movie is honest... that's all that should matter.

The story of the help was Suprise Suprise stolen by a white southern woman from a black woman's life .:mjpls: it's not a excellent movie it had some good performances but it's nothing more than white people patting they backs.
‘Kathryn spelt my name wrong, but they pronounce it exactly the same way in the book and the film. I introduced myself to Kathryn when I first met her at her brother’s house that way: ‘‘Aib-e-leen”.
Kathryn has Aibileen teaching the white folks’ baby girl to call her ‘‘Aib-ee”. That’s what I taught Kathryn’s niece and nephew to call me because they couldn’t manage Abilene." white people love the idea of acting like they helped those poor black people

James Brown is my favorite musician of all time but I wouldn't want to see a biopic. They'd leave so much out and make JB out to be some super nice person. I'm going to watch it though just for the soundtrack. Should of kept Spike Lee, he's always shows both sides.
