I still don't get her being cast as Nina Simone...she is not that great of an actress and I don't know anybody that goes to see a movie based on Zoe Saldana being in it.
Kimberly Elise would have been perfect for the role and not required all of the goofy makeup to be convincing.

So Tyler Perry only makes one type of movie? He couldn't play James of course, but he's a GREAT director and could easily pull this off.

I am curious as to why Spike was removed from the movie.
I wonder if maybe Spike didn't want to show all of Brown's lesser qualities. While I am a huge fan of the music legend everything I read about James was that he wasn't that great of a person at times.

James stood with and at time surpassed black leaders. As time passed, and the drugs took its tool. His legacy was tarnished in ways.
Then with the media being what they be, you only gonna hear about the worst in the headlines.
This movie is about the Man and his life, and his life had PLENTY of positives that you wouldn't know shyt about
