Agreed on both; Jaws is the start of everything that Hollywood is now and Munich is a masterpiece on every level and the last great film Spielberg made. His new spy thriller this Christmas might change that though

I'm a huge fan of The Adventures of TinTin too, but I may be in the minority on that one.

Munich is 2005 though. The point of this thread is how he was dropping classics nearly every year or two from the time Raiders came out. That is crazy. A.I. is pretty underrated though. That is a beautifully shot film.

Crystal Skull and Lincoln were :ld: especially Crystal Skull. I hope his new shyt hits.

What do you consider Jaws, Close Encounters....Catch Me If You Can, Minority Report and Munich tho?

I don't disagree with the thread, just saying it should be expanded to more than a run. It's his entire career lol. Hell, even Duel and Sugarland Express are cool little movies

I love all of those movies but it's more Raiders drops in '81, next year it's E.T., right into Twilight Zone, right into Temple.. Jurassic Park and Schindler's List both drop in '93, Amistad and SPR were a year apart. that's what blows my mind. He went from a classic right into another classic with no break.

Jaws created the summer blockbuster model. This "run", if you can call 20 years a run lol, definitely needs to start with that.

And honestly, should extend at least to Munich.

But who doesn't know Spielberg is awesome?

Steven has been on a 4 Decade Run and can be argued as the most successful director in the history of cinema (His buddy George is the Biggest Mogul in Movie History). He just recently fell off slightly but he's still having hits till this day. He may not be the best technical director but he's probably the most complete director in the game as far as continued success for generations. The fact that there's a new "Jurassic Park" movie coming out and people are still interested is a testament to Steven's lasting impact. Steven and George's Impact on Film and Cinema probably won't be matched for the next 50-100 years. This is a once in several lifetimes type of impact they had. Jaws Turns 40 Years old this year. Star Wars turns 38. Amazingly when they came together, The Indiana Jones Saga was born.

Spielberg just has enough classics under his belt that you kinda ignore the questionable stuff he's done. I mean, who the fukk even remembers Always?

LOL
