Not only did they deliver one of the best villain performances in the MCU but they managed to spark new life into Spiderman with that ending stinger. There is so much they could do now with that story and nobody has any clue where its going. Please dont cop out and bring in a Green Goblin or Dock Ock, if there are only going to be 3 Spiderman movies attached to the MCU id hope they all have fresh villians.
That's like saying let's have batman with no joker, fukk that

Those two on the level of the Joker....:russ: The Joker is the most iconic comic villain of all time. Nobody is on his level, right under that you have Magneto and Lex Luthor. Green Goblin is not that.

They already have a classic super hero movie with Doc Ock, there is no benefit in revisiting that. Goblin takes too much set up to do properly and we dont have time for that in a 3rd film. Lets move on, this saga doesnt need the Osborns at this point and it would be awkward for Harry to just pop up out of nowhere now. I dont understand why some people want to keep seeing the same villains over and over.

What are you talking about, in the comics they're both synonymous with spiderman. And speaking of which Didn't Peter and harry meet in college?

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
During the mid-credits scene when J. Jonah Jameson popped up, I let out a loud, "YES!" and clapped. I was the only one. :francis: Everyone in the theater turned gave me a big, fat confused look. Oh well. :yeshrug:

EDIT - I gotta remember that some of the people in that theater were born the year the first Spider-Man film came out. :skip:

Oh yea miles definitely gonna be mcu Spiderman after the next film
Nah, there's buzz about them going 9 films deep with Holland and I can see it with how fire FFH was and how they've proven they can get the most out of Spidermans loaded deck of villains.

We probably won't see Miles casted until the tail end of Hollands run when he passes the torch like Tony did to Peter.

Im talking about equating Joker with Green Goblin as far as importance. Its no comparison at all. You dont have to have a Green Goblin to fill out a Spiderman story. You cant have Batman without Joker, X-Men without Magneto, or Superman without Lex.

Peter met Harry in college but the dynamic between them is that they were best friends. The Peter in this story already has a best friend, his secret identity is now known, and he has his girl. Pretty much all the hooks that made Harry stick have been taken away in the first two movies.

I disagree. Goblin is synonymous with Peter because he made it personal. He’s tormented Peter at every milestone in his life and added to his guilt and trauma. Took the life of the woman he loved and made Peter question whether it was his fault, went to the trouble of finding out peters true identity, brought his parents back from the dead only to go “surprise; Parker they’re not really your parents”, put a rift between peter and his best friend, not to mention the amount of grief he’s put Harry through which has also affected peter. Harry became a drug addict because of Norman.

Norman is a b*stard and while he may not be as malicious as joker, he’s definitely Peter’s equivalent and has made his life a living hell since peter was in college and continued to do so even when he was dead

Take a step back and think about it from outside of a hardcore Spiderman fan perspective. In terms of popularity is Green Goblin on the same planet as Joker with the general public. When people think of Spiderman do they immediately think of Green Goblin next? If there were 3 Spiderman movies and none of them featured Green Goblin would Joe Public even think twice about it? Bruh they just made a very high profile Spiderman game that did not feature Green Goblin. Thats why i say there is an opportunity here to keep the ball rolling with first time villians because unlike the cases with Batman were Joker is a MUST, in X-Men Magento is a MUST, in Superman Lex Luthor is a MUST, that is not the case with Green Goblin.

Now look at your first paragraph. Almost none of the hooks you mentioned can happen now in THIS story.

I’m not talking in terms of popularity; I’m talking in terms of importance. People think of venom because he looks cool but that’s it. Venoms actual impact story wise, strictly speaking story, isn’t close to green goblin or even doc ock. So to me when I think of this, I go with who’s important not who’s popular. Norman Osborn is at the center of the best peter Parker stories in most mediums and no other villain, outside of possibly Ock, has been as integral to his development as a character.

Magneto, joker, and lex have had the benefit of visibility as well. There’s an X-men cartoon that was allowed to have him as a recurring villain. Video games. Two decades worth of movies too. Joker got a chance to be on a hit show in the 60s that became a true pop culture phenomenon then was brought to life on the big screen by one of the greatest actors of all time. Lex has been a part of damn near every Superman movie ever made, plus a prime time tv show in the 90s as well. That lends itself to that popularity as well. Not saying they aren’t great but no Spider-Man villain has ever gotten to be the center of attention in that way. And build their popularity over that period of time.

And I’m not arguing for Norman to be in the next movie. I’m just saying let’s not act like he’s not important. I’d save Norman for when peter is in college and they can deal with more adult themes in the movies and truly show his menace. But that’s me

Lol I said I disagreed with homie not being integral to a Spider-Man story. And he’s just as important as joker or magneto. That’s it. I had to quote the whole thing tho homie. I wasn’t going to parse out what you said to show my contention. That’s it:hubie:
