TYRONE GA!
So we're all agreed that this is the best Spidey film ever made? Raimi's, Homecoming and everything else?

Edit: Also are Spiderpig, Spidernoir & Spidermech 3015 (!) canon or introduced within this film? Cant say I'm familiar with them in the comics

Spidey 2 is greatness, but this is easily the best since.

Such a great scene, I like to think of it as him ascending (going up) after taking his leap of faith which required him to fall down.

The build up for that scene is probably the best movie experience I’ve had this year. I like the overall of message of “You can great of you have faith in yourself” that was present throughout the film because as someone with nephews, it’s great for them to see.

This might end up being an annual tradition thing for me and my son to watch around christmas or something once it's released on video. Once we got home from seeing it he grabbed his legos, took Venoms body, Killmongers head, and Nakia's hair and said it was Miles Morales. Watching him is living proof of how representation matters and how it can inspire the imagination to think on a wider scope. He's growing up with so much more than I ever got to see as a kid and I love it:mjcry:

Took my babies to see it and I teared up. They were so excited when Miles put on that blAck suit. My daughter said he’s the coolest Spider-Man.

This next generation is growing up with black superheroes. Their imaginations are going to be lit.
my older brother took my nephews to see it and he fukked up letting them bring their web shooters in the fliks.
:deadmanny:

he said, "them little nikkas wild out with them shyts!"

It feels so good to be able to just....enjoy a Spider-Man movie again. I haven't flat out enjoyed a Spider-Man movie since I was 15 watching Spider-Man 2. Everything since has either been me hating it (fukking Amazing Spider-Man 2) or not liking it but being like "Well, this is all the Spider-Man I'm getting, so I guess this is fine." Nope. None of that compromising here. This is just a damn good movie with some gorgeous visuals, a soundtrack I'm still listening to, and a touching story about a young man learning to believe in himself. Best superhero and animated movie this year by a good country mile.

Before Christmas break, my team and I took our second graders on a field trip to see The Grinch. I wanted so badly to argue for waiting a few days to see this instead, but I held back because prior conversations told me they weren't really into superhero movies whereas they were super excited to see The Grinch (work with old white women, brehs).

I'm kicking myself for not at least trying for the exact reason you said. Representation is so important, and I would have loved for our students to not only see Miles, but Gwen and Peni as well. Not to mention the writing and acting and sheer visual spectacle and creativity on display in this far outstrips yet another completely milquetoast animated movie like The Grinch.

Oh well. Gonna have this shyt on with no debates during the next movie day.
