Speech is right, but I also don't think it's rationalizing to point out some other neglected facts that others have pointed out and that Speech didn't mention or notice. Life is way more nuanced than he's alluding to.
Wealth cannot be acquired without some form of exploitation. Not a rationalization to point that fact out.
It wasn't as if this music and culture was sold to only white folk or approved of as being marketable solely by white people. Again, not a rationalization.
The fact that he acknowledges to listening and thus supporting to some degree the art that is produced by those on the picture would suggest that he is aware that things are not as concrete as his argument suggests.
And I dont listen to shyt that probably 98% of them nikkas in that flick make or have made. The ones I recognize anyway.

Funny that I don't see this criticism toward Scorsese for promoting negative Italian American stereotypes with his gangster movies. At the end of the day they're artists doing what artists do. They should be judged on the merits of their craft, not for their choice of subject matter.
