I was just like let me watch the first episode and then that turned into watching the whole season.

That isn't suprising the first episode is bad, I can't remember exactly what happened but the creator Steven Deknight said this about the pilot:

I think they had presented like a rough version of what the first episode would be and starz liked it and had them start filming the rest immediately. The first episode is nothing like the rest of the series. In the same interview he mentions it takes them a couple episodes to get going but when they do the show is excellent. Each season of Spartacus had season finale's that are better than pretty much any season finale for any show on television recently. I remember season 1 really picking up on Episode 5 onwards it was greatness after that.

first episode wasn't really that bad but yeah it really has nothing to do with the rest of the series, all it does is show sparty in his homeland, second episode is where it truly starts and each episode gets better and the finale

I started with episode 1 of prequel. Didnt know I was doing it though, if I had started with season 1 episode 1 i probably woulda dropped it.

But you know the show is fire so you should start with season 1 and try your hardest to get through the first few episodes

hmm. interesting. I found it generic as fukk and reminded me of those cheesy 300 remakes. I remember hearing before that it gets much better.

Did you know Saxa and The Egyptian are together in real life?

The ethnicity casting in this show is all effed up. They got a half Maori as a Gaul, a Maori as an African, an African as a Gaelic and then a white dude as an Egyptian.

Should I watch the prequel season first?

No. Like someone said there's spoilers. Plus its a prequel, they aren't meant to be watched first.

it gets better and better

the final ep of the first season is

hell yeah the all time classic "Kill Them All" episode ..one of the few season finales to ever completely blow my mind
