Gannicus fukking doctores wife :banderas: he won

Did not like the way they emasculated Oenomaus character in the prequel (Gannicus was so amazing that Oenomaus couldn't satisfy Melitta anymore? :comeon:). Not that I'm surprised.

whats th

whats the prequel?

Season 1 = Blood and Sand
Prequel = Gods of the Arena
Season 2 = Vengeance
Season 3 = War of the Damned

Netflix lists the prequel as "season two" though.

Crixus was dumb for splitting up the group, his end was inevitable...

Don't understand why they killed off Gannicus though...Fagron survived his crucifixion but da gawd couldn't?

Gannicus really changed and grew into his leadership roll...Seemed like he would be the one to lead to group to salvation...

History

For reasons that are unclear, Crixus and about 30,000 followers appear to have separated from Spartacus and the main body of escaped slaves toward the end of 73 B.C.E. Contemporary historians have theorized two possible reasons for the split. One theory proposes that Crixus and his followers were intent on plundering the Roman countryside and, perhaps, marching on Rome itself, while Spartacus and his followers wanted to cross the alps to reach Gaul and freedom. A second theory is that the split had strategic value and was planned by Spartacus and Crixus as a way to further their strategic goals.

Whatever the reason for the split, Crixus' contingent came under attack from a Roman army under the command of the Roman consul Lucius Gellius Publicola near Mount Garganus in 72 B.C. Crixus, who is said to have fought bravely in a losing effort, was killed in the conflict.

Spartacus, upon hearing of the defeat of Crixus and his forces, held mock gladiatorial games, in which he forced captured Roman soldiers to fight to the death. Three hundred Romans were sacrificed in Crixus' honor.

Had to tell my co-workers who hadn't seen the show yet :ufdup:and get up on the show. Easily one of my favorite shows in the last few years.

I'm happy everytime I see somewhere from the cast pop up on another show, :lawd: Arrow for keeping them employed.

The gawd Gannicus will finally pop up on something, he's going to be on the last season of Strike Back this summer :whew:

Only cast member I really haven't seen besides Batiatus, is Ilithyia show up somewhere. She would be perfect for a show like Vikings.

Everyone is on Arrow :deadrose:

i watched part of the first episode, maybe I wasn't in the mood for it but I turned it off to watch Louie

That isn't suprising the first episode is bad, I can't remember exactly what happened but the creator Steven Deknight said this about the pilot:
There was no pilot, so we didn’t have time to go back and retool the pilot, rewrite the pilot, reshoot a lot of the pilot, the way you normally would. We had to - a week later start shooting episode two.

I think they had presented like a rough version of what the first episode would be and starz liked it and had them start filming the rest immediately. The first episode is nothing like the rest of the series. In the same interview he mentions it takes them a couple episodes to get going but when they do the show is excellent. Each season of Spartacus had season finale's that are better than pretty much any season finale for any show on television recently. I remember season 1 really picking up on Episode 5 onwards it was greatness after that.
