India is way higher on my list, most dangerous place in Eastern Europe is Russia cause of the political situation, cold weather and the virulent racism but Indian cities would be Just as racist (see the thread about the 2 brehs getting jumped by 400 Indians), Hot and muggy as fukk, unsanitary as fukk with mad diseases floating around, high crime levels including muggings and SA, scammers, and the possibility of a fukking leopard or tiger making its way into the city and splitting your wig cause you dont know apex predador protocol. fukk that noise, the rest of the global South >>> visiting wack ass India.

I'm not sure what kind of life she was living at first, but after looking at her photos, it looks like this older White man had money, and bought her. One way or another, he should have been smart enough not to take her camping in no India, or to India period. And she should have been smart enough not to let him.
Anyway, at this point, I have no desire to travel the world the way I once did. Not saying I won't try at one point, but there's too many ways to get messed up. You have horror stories that you don't even hear about. My first time traveling to Hawaii, I almost got messed up. The same with Brazil, although I had the time of my life there. Being in Brazil alone, lucky I met a brother who I could halfway trust. If that was the wrong brother, I probably would have never made it back.
One thing about Rio, although they have a lot of Black children panhandling (and I mean they be going hard), it's not as bad as the child panhandling in India. Plus Brazil ain't down with all that raping, and they're real hard on messing with under aged girls. However today, I don't really know what's going on over there.

Bragging rights. A lot of people wanna say that they have been literally everywhere.
It's very similar to the phenomenon of folks climbing Everest , kilamanjaro, Fuji, etc just to say they have done so.
My only issue is that they come from a weak passport country; so there is no guarantee that Brazil will send in a rescue team when the Taliban hem them up, like Brits or Americans, or French or Russians or Japanese or Canadians will do.

Whats more alarming is that they were being cheap. There is no reason whatsoever that a foreigner should be chilling near a slum in another country. It'd be like a Chinese or British or Argentinian tourist spending their vacation in oblock in Chicago or on skid row and being surprised they have problems.
Camping isn't an issue. Clothing isn't an issue either. I guarantee you there are scantily clad Indian women being free as a kite inside closed resorts or luxury glamping sites. This is where those two should've been. I'm willing to bet they didn't want to pay for it

I feel you on tampering down expectations for travel, I used to wanna travel to really exotic countries and while I still have Southeast Asia, West Africa and East Asia on my list, Im not doing India, China, Russia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Saudi etc cause of the cultural/political differences and American embassies not having that much clout in these places compared to West Europe, Latín América, Japan etc.
Too many horror stories come out from those countries if you watch enough travel vlogs.
