Went to India in 2012, never felt unsafe re: the men, but the poverty there is a whole other level. Glad I saw it, but I’d never go back

Most people are going to be in tourist areas, outside of that is the slums - you cannot do shyt in the slums, there’s nothing to buy and the food would make you sick and even in the tourist areas it’s overrun with poverty, can’t think of any reason to be outside of tourist areas if you’re not an anthropologist. We did go to “normal people homes” as our classmate invited us over - but of course they’re rich, so being in their neighborhood wasn’t a problem.
