it would take infinite energy to accelerate mass to the speed of light

true but presumably you want to go past it

the other solution is to not accelerate at all and find a way to move a ship from zero MPH to FTL instantly, if you are FTL to begin with Einstein has no problem with it

So basically what we already knew from Star Trek and warp fields surrounding the ships :jbhmm:

It’s crazy how the show writers were just pulling words out their asses but scientists are making things from sci fi turn into reality :dwillhuh:
The guy that came up with the idea (alcubierre) was actually watching star trek at the time. Ive seen a interview about it

The fact this was a “whoopsie” amazes me. If we as a collective species concentrated only on cracking deep space travel we could have it off the ground in a decade. We are way too busy infighting though.

We, as a species, can't even cooperate to stop a virus for 2 GODDAMNED YEARS!!!!

There is no such thing as "we" in our society past our immediate family/sphere of influence.

Don't nobody give two shyts about the people living right next door to them, much less in other Nations hundreds/thousands of miles away.

Look at the ID4 sequel plot. If had a unifying outside/alien threat to get us on the ball and money/economics wasn’t an issue we would have the shyt solved.
