They spoiled the whole movie. Between showing who the monstars are, all of the classic movie homages, tweetie bird getting stomped like the OG, and telling that Mike is in the movie I feel like I’ve seen the whole thing already

It should do fine. Parents can just put on HBO Max for a couple hours to keep the kids entertained and take a break or they can bring them to the theatre for some bonding. Their main competition for the young family crowd is Luca which is a Pixar movie that comes out a month before. Kids are gonna need something new to watch a month later.

Malcolm D. Lee is hit or miss as a director. And some of this stuff lately looks more Scary Movie 5/Night School level trash.
