Pretty much
The episode was funny to me, but it's nowhere near being the funniest episode or even in the top 20. To me the episode did what it sought out to do....

- made fun of the thought of Zimmerman being looked at as some sort of hero for killing an unarmed black teen (Govt recruiting him to kill Token)
- exposed the low key racist thoughts and fears some people had (Cartman's actions)
- showed how stupid and bias the stand your ground law is
- showed the outcome/difference between shooting an unarmed black kid (hero. glorified) and killing an unarmed white kid (sent to the electric chair)
- showed how clearly being the victim could still get you reprimanded if your black (Token in the office after he gets shot by Cartman)

Besides Boondocks (whenever the hell that decides to come back on) there ain't too many shows that have the ability to really school that issue the way South Park did.
Ok, just bc they covered all of these issues still doesn't make a great. It wasn't funny at all and they could have done a waaay better job illustrating their point in a more entertaining way. The Zimmerman case has so much potential for a show like South Park and they dropped the ball

That's just my opinion. You have a right to yours as well so it's whatever breh.

I thought it was funny and cats I know in real life thought the same. I never said it was great. I actually said it wasn't even top 20. In the grand scheme of things, they've had a lot worst episodes than the Zimmerman one, but do you. Yeah the episode could have been funnier, but I still thought it was important that they expose and son the whole case which is what they did.

only reason it wasnt funny was because it was too obvious in what it was trying to say. i hadnt watch south park in a grip but i remember it being a lot more clever with the satire. this joint was too straight forward. we know cartman is a fukked up dude but his craziness is basically an excuse for him to do anything, if it doesnt make sense. its kind of a crutch

Exactly...there wasn't nothing clever at all other than the world z scene in the streets. But everything else didnt fit. Cartman never really had a problem with Token then out of the blue he turns into his worst enemy???? Big Let down

I was just too disturbed the whole episode to really laugh. I've watched every episode since the beginning and will continue to watch but this one was really bothersome.

Just hard for me to make light of a black kid getting smoked for really minding his own business.
:laff: make fun of everyone for 15 years EXCEPT my kind of people, then I'm "disturbed"

Haven't watched the episode but upon seeing the thread title, I knew this thread would turn out the way it did: mainly a bunch of sensitive militants bytching about how the episode "rubbed them the wrong way" because they did satire on such a "serious subject".....even though by most accounts, they seemed to shyt on Zimmerman and racist whites more than Trayvon :snoop:

I guess some of y'all would prefer they didn't do an episode on the incident at all......oh no, wait a minute: then that would mean them cacs are fine with addressing other controversial shyt but they're too scared to address some real shyt about a black kid getting killed :heh:

And of course you have several people saying it wasn't funny.....which is fine in itself since humor is subjective, but I wonder what them nikkas would have done to make the episode funnier. My guess is that there's nothing that could be done in their view, and that the main reason it could never be made funny to some of them is due to their strong feelings over the real-life incident, and then seeing it addressed on a show that's supposed to make you laugh, of all things

And to that nikka complaining about the 'hipsters' asking if SP was still on: South Park isn't as big as it used to be so I can see how some people might legit think it's no longer on the air, and that it just quietly ended. I even thought the same thing happened to The Simpsons a few years after I stopped watching it. Has nothing to do with being a 'hipster'

I might check the shyt out later.......

On the internet, every race might laugh at anothers misfortune. But I don't think people post with there hearts
Especially on here.

What is real outside of the net, Trayvon Martin got killed, Zim got away, and plenty of white people was glad as this Kid who never been in the trouble with the police (even tho they seek out people of color)
People was gernerally happy that the "niggger got what he deserved"

I have never heard a black person say Nicole Simpson got what she deserved :manny:
We was just happy that the racist system that still oppresses people of color til this day had to take an L in the same fashion they do us on a daily basis. Savages they are.

So to retort your "and u wonder why whites give no fukks about yall" well too my knowledge, the whites who don't give a fukk about "yall" never gave a fukk about us. Racism is how white people thru-out all of history have gotten down. So by your own definition, you sir are a 2nd definition Niggger. A very ignorant person

fukk outta here nikka :camby:

Brolic... Alcoholics
After watching the newest ep I realize what was wrong.

It wasn't this ep in particular, I think I'm just tired of Cartman always coming out on top. It's the same reason why I stopped watching Californication. I just got tired of Hank always v getting fukked over after it seems like he's getting his shyt together.

The Cartman always winning shyt has gone overboard. It's just kinda annoying at this point. The shyt at the end where he put the whipped cream in his hand and farted and put it on Kyle's face was too predictable in that I knew somehow, someway Eric Cartman would prevail.
