This is the kind of shyt that pisses me off about africa. This right here.

Stupid fukks have a great opportunity, revenue to show the world a new sate of the art african country, and what do they do? fight each other. Even with a common enemy up north, they fight each other.

This is the kind of stuff that reinforces stereotypes. and it's like they dont even care. 70% of africa have no pride or self esteem. No sense of worth. Instead of fighting they should be thinking about their people and how to really show the intl community an african country can strive.

I'm disgusted.
The SPLM and it's leadership was always highly corrupt but their allies turned a blind eye and gave them a free pass because of broader politics. Once their only leader with integrity and foresight died( Garang) it was a wrap for the future of South Sudans politics.

Your post is a bit melodramatic though. Africa isn't stuck in some major continental war, the vast majority of it is stable.

I agree with this mostly. However I think it all comes to down to corruption and bad governance. When you are in dire poverty and you believe one tribe or group is doing slightly better than your's this creates resentment. And it's only a matter of time before tensions escalate and violence erupts. Instead of fighting each other they should point the finger at the usual culprit. The greedy government officials and politicians who keep ALL the people impoverished. This is typical among many African countries. Their leaders simply can't run things without involving themselves in corruption.

I think I called this awhile back. When the split was announced....all the coli people were so quick to say they were happy for them to get away from the "Arab" North but I knew S. Sudan wasn't going to get any better.

even if south sudan descends into all out civil war...it was still important for them to get away from the arab north

your doing the same that a lot of these other races do to us....whenever something negative happens in Africa you try to project it onto the whole continent. That's not fair, why can't the criticisms just stay confined towards South Sudan? Why does the whole of Africa need to be implicated in this mess? After all, if it was something positive coming out of Africa...the whole of Africa wouldn't get credit would they now?

because these kinds of inter-conflicts seem to be pertinent throughout the whole continent. South Sudan is just another text book example of the negligence of African leadership and how it leaves people with no other alternative but to fight amongst themselves.

Did you watch the vice documentary I just posted? it's actually north sudan and chinese firms causing the problem.

they're uprooting people to drill oil while not giving the dinka compensation, however the dinkas refuse to move.

It's bigger than that homie. Vice has very good documentary but very bias on their coverage in conflict docs. Divide and Conquer has always been a European model but to just blame solely the North and the Chinese ( who haven't been there that long) is naive.

While I agree that moving away from the Arab north was a good move, this is beyond pathetic. Hopefully they can squash the beef quickly and move forward. If Obama was smart, he would intervene in the region immediately. At the very least the US could reap the benefits of a stable oil producing country that would be indebted to them.
