I agree that Canelo should have the upper hand in negotiations, but Canelo really really should fight g. I was about to type NEEDs but it's not that dire. Just having two beasts. at good points in their careers, not fighting, looks bad on both ends.

I think they end up fighting at 157 in 2017 (When Canelo feels fully comfortable there) and it'll go 8-4 cinammon. G has a shyt team around him (for us real heads not for his pocketbooks), and he would get the donut from #SOGgang, but he is still no joke as a boxer.

Canelo shouldn't have that upper hand any negotiations, he got the middleweight strap, he offered to fight Floyd at 152 for the title he wasn't forced, he can't force golovkin to weigh under the limit, eventually he gonna have to give up the title or the WBC is being straight up biased.

Just because Triple Shook too scared to test does 168 waters doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to fight for the middleweight crown at the middleweight limit

I actually don't disagree with you. That's why I didn't say anything about the belts. If their were no belts on the line it'd be a megafight still.

You shouldn't need a source to tell you this.

Pursuing a Ward fight never made any sense. Your talking about a fight where he has a 20 % chance of winning & that's me being generous.

Oh I agree, but you KNOW he's going to stick to that 155 or vacate the belt. He got finessed to fight Floyd at 152 and vowed to never get leveraged again.

Come on fam. Floyd didn't have to budge on an ounce over 147 for anybody.

And Canelo was in a position where he could have walked away from negotiations to other money fights, as well. They just played the victim because they overestimated 2 pounds.

when Floyd was Canelo age he already accomplished more in the sport yet had none of the cache

Stop it:forreal:

Floyd at 25: 7 Champions faced, 2x Champion over 2 divisions.

Canelo currently at 25: 9 Champions faced, 3x Champion over 2 Divisions.

Put some respeck on Canelo's name:birdman:

floyd outsmarted canelo more than anything
his team said they would fight at 152 so he used it against them
canelo still out weighed floyd big time on fight night
floyd never gets his due credit for fighting guys bigger than him
floyd paid his dues anyway

ggg hasn't paid anything but is still trying to act like he ha leverage
do i wish him and canelo fought without a catch weight? sure
but ggg fukked himself by saying he would come down to 154 for floyd
so canelo gonna use that to his advantage to get the fight at one 155:yeshrug:

if you want the top spot sometimes u gotta make sacrifices. whether thats money, weight or whatever

once you win you dictate the rules but sometimes u just gotta fight

Stop it with the lies:forreal:

Floyd was the lineal champ in two visions when he was 25, Canelo's never accomplished that

Floyd had a gun blazing performance against Diego Corrales who was 22 and undefeated lol, Canelo had a gun blaizng performance against James Kirkland lol

Canelo's biggest accomplishment is being beaten by Floyd lmao lets be serious, I like him, but people massaging him up like he already establish some greatness

people complained about Floyd fighting Cotto lmao, yet Canelo gets a pass for a pedestrian performance against a smaller more aged fighter lmao

that's the type of ridiculous shyt I'm talking about

How did he get finessed to fight Floyd at 152 when he offered the catchweight from the beginning and floyd accepted lol

also canelo is nowhere near in the position floyd was in to dictate to anything lol, when Floyd was Canelo age he already accomplished more in the sport yet had none of the cache

another example of how people view black fighters to white fighters, somebody like Floyd with nearly two decades is equal to guy who can't crack 1 million ppvs off the strength of his own name

Canelo Alvarez: Floyd Mayweather team forced catchweight

^^^^^^^that says that it was the other way around when it came to negotiations for the Canelo-Mayweather fight. But I get you point in that they DID NOT have to take 152, they coulda walked away

But w/e about that fight, Canelo don't have the cache that Floyd had when it comes to negotiations but it's GGG that needs the fight, NOT Canelo. Canelo will more than likely vacate it when/if he's told 155 is a no go fro the higher ups.

I'm just being realistic about it all. If you think that the fight taking place at 155 come September, be ready for a rude awakening :francis:

"The kid suggested a while ago that he would be willing to come down to fight Floyd at 150. So if he put it out there ... this is business at the end of the day, and we're going to hold his feet to the fire, and his manager the same way."

From the link you posted.

Floyd beat Cotto for his 154 title, Canelo won a vacant title he was a paper champ anyway.

Also Canelo and GGG are the same size. Floyd is smaller than all the 147 pound fighters he fought except for Pac and Marquez. So it is reason to have them fight at a catchweight.

It's not reasonable for GGG just a reason to avoid the fight for whatever reason.

Canelo hasn't beaten any of his contemporaries except for Lara

Why isn't he fighting one of the Charlo brothers or Demetrius Andrade

He getting stripes he ain't even earn, that's the problem I have with Canelo, he don't even do PPV numbers on top of all that

Breh...3 things you should never do:

  1. Argue politics with someone
  2. Argue religion with someone
  3. Argue with Floyd stans

Any of those 3 things will cause you to obtain a migraine after about 5 - 10 minutes:wow:
