Sounds like they're moving closer to allowing women in combat...

So you were one of those scary n1ggas that didn't get it in, in the desert?
The trick is to find a girl who isn't a desert queen and lock her down until her tour is over, and get a new one fresh off the plane. I was lucky enough to be at Balad/ Anaconda though.

Anyway, women in combat is a mistake. Raped like crazy when they are captured. Physically are different. Will have to squat to pee. I didn't even like dealing with them on regular post.. like you can leave a man on a tower, at a ECP, or where ever.. and not relieve them for a while. A women needs relief for random sh1t, plus you naturally want to check on them. If a fire fight breaks out.. will more than likely act like a women in a fire fight. Plus ( at least me) people would pay their pain too much attention.

could a woman carry you?

would you want a woman with you on a bravo two zero type of mission

This guy at Foreign Policy, Joshua Keating, wrote an article on which armies already have women serving, with what restrictions and with what results. Apparently women from Canada, Germany, Poland and Sweden were in combat situations in Afghanistan.

Sorry but I only have the french translation of the article, seems like you have to be registered on Foreign Policy to have access to archives. The gist of the article is that women are already serving in combat situations in different armies (France, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Israël, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Sweden), all armies still have restrictions (no women in french submarines for example) and that no specific issues were raised by their presence. The issue of harassment/rape does not come up at all in the article, which may be because it's a non-issue or because it's kind of "covered up", I'll leave that to those who've been in combat.

Here's a link to a British study cited in the article, on "women in close combat". Have not read it yet

Man, the feminist in me agrees with this in principal, but logistically ... I agree with a lot of you military cats -- I don't know how it would work, or if it would work well.

Of course it wont work.

I mean if there is a woman that can handle everything a male infantry member can, more power to her, but the vast majority won't. Is the military going to start lowering standards now?

If women can't play in the NFL, NBA, or MLB then a sane military shouldn't be risking lives by asking men to place their safety in the hands of someone who is clearly at a liability by default....and these are just the physical ramifactions...the emotional/mental ramifications are a whole 'nother story.
