No, you're not hearing me. I said abusing not spamming. He know he has a reach advantage so when I get in I have to attack. While I'm trying to attack while I'm in, he uses reversal edge which absorbs all my hits. It's STUPID. I can get around GI with grabs, but you can't grab Re. I'm telling you it is the worst mechanic.

And if I get in and try to bait out RE he's dictating the match. Cause he can all mix in his fastest normals with RE. Like I said this SC is for people who were TRASH SC before.

That's what Break Attacks are for (the moves with blue lightning). Not only can you not GI or RE them, but you get a lethal hit in certain situations (listed in the move list). On block, you generally still have the frame advantage to continue pressure as well

Sidestep and make use of your 8 way run moves cuz RE is a linear attack, or use Break Attacks more

Also Kilik CE in Soul Charge is an unblockable high, gotta duck it

The game seems so much easier for them

It doesn’t help that you start off a decent distance away from each other helping to give them an advantage


I’ve been using break attack’s more for reversal edge cowards so it’s been helping but ...

It really should be tied to meter ...


The game is a gimmick fest

Infinite guard impact
Infinite reversal edge (absorbs lows, throws , supers)
2 supers in a round possibly
Reverseal edge yields tons of meter
Characters with unlimited plus on block moves


All that being said is still having fun, but it’s a casual game ...

I haven’t really had to look for guide on mechanics or strategy or when to punish certain players ...

I’m sure once I do I’ll be even better I just hit E3


As of right now though indont see how this game can be taken serious as a tournament fighter

Taki isn't really good in this game, right now any kind of range is the meta. Which I'm fine with, as its usually its not the case in fighters.

If you fine someone spamming RE on you as taki just use ninja cannon. It really good against that.

Taki can't mindless rushdown in this game plus she has to work to get it....

Once they tone back some of the characters with range the melee characters with dominate and everyone can be happy again.


The best characters in the game right now all have good range.

There's nothing gimmicky about most of those things you listed infact they all work together. 2 defensive options for all characters and 2 offensive options for characters.

There aren't alot of plus moves for most characters alot of things that look like they might be safe or plus really aren't.


It's not much I'd change about the mechanics of the game. Some characters could use some tweaking but truthfully right now Any character can win if they know the match up. The game is more about knowing match up and strong neutral and defense than anything.

Yeah I heard she's not great in this game. She does have a homing projectile that helps her approach, don't know much about her break attacks but most of her attacks are quick enough to finish and sidestep before the RE hits you

I see a lot of players see RE activated and give in to it but if the opponent holds it for too long, you can attack, get parried by the RE startup animation, and still sidestep before the RE attack actually hits

If you're out here doing long strings and just going on auto pilot, for sure you'll get hit with RE. If you incorporate movement with your attacks on hit or on block you will avoid a lot of bullshyt.

Idk if I agree with that. Ill admit i haven't labbed her but from what ive seen (I play maxi) she has

-Pretty good pokes
-Moves that sidestep and moves that duck highs
-A cheap ass auto GI super

I dont agree with all of what @nairdas is saying but I do agree that the RE and the buff that GI got makes it incredibly difficult for close ranged characters to take advantage of their superior pressure game against longer ranged characters.

It's all about learning what you're character has to deal with it though. Maxi for example can do AA out Right Cross for a GB and can loop right back into RC AA if you delay while they try to RE and GI.

All my bytching mainly comes from my character being so nerfed honestly. I don't know who started this but not being able to see who you fight on ranked before you take the match is so fukking stupid. You match me up with someone with 10,000 more points than me two times in a row?? :dahell: You basically just guaranteed me two loses in a row. All fighting games need to stop doing this. I'm pissed that DBFZ made it so you can't see the name of the person you're fight now.

SC4 had the GOAT ranked system. You could see their name, how many wins and losses they had, their win percentage, and their connection. In SC4 let's say I go on a 3 game losing streak and someone pops up with a 90% win percentage, I'm decline that shyt like a mf. Fighting games need to go back to that.

What is Azwell's weakness? As far as I can tell he has none and should NOT be in ranked. He has too much offensive fire power.
