This is a league wide issue but they have to let these younger starters pitch a little bit past their comfort zone when the team has a lead to play with.
These guys like Gil and Schmidt aren't going to pitch deep into games when their pitch count is in the 90's by the 4th/5th inning.

Right now Stroman is the only starter capable of getting through a lineup for a 3rd time.

It might never happen but watching the game, Luis Gil has the stuff to be a really good pitcher.

If he would just throw strikes and trust his stuff, trust his teammates to play defense, he could be good.

But so many pitchers are afraid of contact and get themselves into trouble by throwing too hard or nibbling at the edges.

He might give up home runs here and there but I would live with it.
