Cole’s an ace but he’s gutless. Red Sox own him. Playoffs shyts the bed or chokes close games. Can’t trust dude to come up big when you need him (outside of Guardians in playoffs). Even when he is great, he finds a way to choke it. Rays playoff game where he was pitching great till he gave up the HR to Meadows comes to mind.

3 new bats and 2 new arms along with new leadership at the top of the organization. Anyone shopping all of that :pachaha:? This team really reminds me of the 2021 squad in the sense that they give up as soon as they fall behind and they can’t put anyone away. No heart at all, and that comes from the top down with how mediocrity is acceptable to the front office.

Whatever these changes are it needs to happen now.

This team is poised to play .500 ball the rest of the way at this point.

They literally need an 11 game win streak

Can we not do this dumb shyt with Cole again :stopitslime:? He’s coming off an elbow injury so nobody should be shocked he’s having trouble finding his form. He’s been just fine in the postseason too. He’s got a career 2.93 postseason ERA. Roger Clemens is at 3.75 and Pedro Martinez is at 3.46 for comparison. Choker should be reserved for someone whose era goes through the roof like how Kershaw is in the mid 4’s for the playoffs. If you’re still mad about that wild card game vs Boston, blame Cashman. Everyone knew he was on a bad leg and shouldn’t have even been out there, but the rest of the rotation was made of guys coming off blown out shoulders and Tommy John surgery so Cole on one good leg who’d obviously been hurt for a month was their best option.

Let’s stop it, with us he has almost a 3.5 postseason ERA. He’s been buns against Red Sox and Astros in the playoffs. Red Sox own him in the regular season too. Never said he’s Kershaw bad, but he just isn’t a big game winner. This isn’t about just this season. Dude is gutless. Finds ways to lose when it matters. I said he’s an ace, but can’t trust dude to come up big when you need him. Let’s not forget the sticky stuff dilemma too. Always an excuse with him.

And he’s gonna opt out and force Yankees to give him the extra year.

The playoffs against Boston is a one game sample size where everyone knew he shouldn’t have even been on the mound too. They should have just gone with an opener given how he needed a trip to the DL for his bad hamstring. That team was dead in the water anyway. That team started rougned odor, Kyle higashioka, Andrew Velazquez, and Joey Gallo in that game with gallo hitting cleanup.

His one playoff start vs Houston was an ok start where the offense got shut out. They had 3 hits that night and went 0-6 with runners in scoring position. Exactly what was he supposed to do that night to carry them to a win while the offense did nothing?

The sticky stuff dilemma was a whole bunch of nothing. He was the favorite to win the Cy Young that year until he got hurt in late August.

You’re talking about two total games like it’s a ten year run of getting beat by mediocre teams.

Team is broken. Just sell at this point. Don’t care if the O’s are in striking distance.
I’ve been saying blow it up since 2021 :beli:. No point in any sort of fire sale if the troll in the front office oversees it. This problem runs so much deeper than the roster, as bad as it is. No team gets less out of their players than this one does. That’s a problem that goes above the players.

This season isn’t worth saving
I’d be willing to lose Soto in free agency and then Cole and Judge to trade demands if the trading was the finally clear out the front office.
