looks like a c00n dilemma movie. :mjpls:

act white to get ahead?:francis:

Being black means to fail?

Blacks vs Whites was a conflict between political parties in Italian Renaissance. It's carried over to here. The equivalence being Red/Blue, Republicans/Democrats. The whole Black/White debate is a cultural fallacy.

This movie seeks to show you the chessboard.

I guess the concept goes over your head.
I based my initial opinion on the trailer. I haven't seen the movie and really have no desire to see it now, based on how people in here are acting about it. Yall can stop quoting me, I don't really care about the shyt.

your stars are but dust on my shoes
just got back...I fukk with it

The Worryfree propaganda reminded me of Robocop, and the I got the shyt kicked out of me show reminded me of Idiocracy

but that second half turn :merchant::russ:...seriously didn't expect that...it kinda and kinda doesn't fit into the entire scheme of the flick but it worked

did Tessa have her own white voice when she as performing her art? She sounded british

Agree with you 100%, the 'turn' was so bizarre, but in retrospect I ain't too mad about it. I just felt like it lost a little bit of direction, maybe it was a bit too hastily made, but it took me out of the entire film. Shame too, cause I really found the movie to be humorous and interesting.

This film with a better executed finale would be received completely different.

Honestly the turn didn't take me out of the film, the workhorse metaphor worked imo. Even before the turn the worry free employees were basically corporate livestock, they are fed and sheltered and that's it. The metamorphosis represents the inability of the workforce to demand their human rights from a company that is for all intents and purposes above the law.

Detroit
Haven't read this thread yet so what I say may be repeats. It felt like a movie that got green lighted because of the success of "Get Out" but doesn't quite work. Good acting, funny moments but the "deepness" went way over my head. With "Get Out" it was more fun trying to figure out the symbolism. With this movie, especially with the twist I just look at it as being weird. I will say the biggest surprise was
my niguh Ghost. I honestly didn't know it was him until he took the White voice off. He killed it. He should silent the critics who say he can't act. Now, I will say that I was surprise Cash Green didn't sleep with a White woman. They didn't really sexualize him at all like that. He lost his identity but not with the White woman. I thought that one freak on the elevator was going to give it up to him. Whereas Detroit fell for an Asian dude briefly which was hard to believe. I wish they had more Terry Crews in this though. /

I liked it, but the third act was weird.
Yea. Tessa had a British accent on when she was doing her art show sale :skip:

Also if the Asian dude was burning, then Tessa's character is burning now :skip

I was wondering why he didn't use his white voice for the journalist....but he was probably still freaked the fukk out.

It's funny how the ceo dude wanted him to be the MLK of Horses... because everything Cash did after the proposal.. really works in favor of that :patrice:
