So carm walks in and Tony straight acknowledges her being there with a nod like she's interconnected with him forever forth. That's what it is. An undying love and bond. Aaaand, she realizes from recent hideaways that she's cemented in the lifestyle. No way out. A menu is given.

Anthony walks in and gives a slight grin, sits down and is patted on the hand by his pops. Menu given. Tony is okay with his "movie" career given it's provided by his own hustle.
Securing a haven for his only son who's struggling with the same depression as he does.

Now the random Italian and black dudes that are noticed are just whatever, whatever in the larger scheme of things. Tony always being "cautious".

Meadow... Forever to park, never situated. Never certain. Causing delays in Tony's business decisions heading forward.

She gets clipped by the New York family after law school and marrying what's his name. That's it. She decided between medical and law and it was her undoing. Carm was against it... Tony didn't like her involved with dude. Tony wanted nothing but his family to be safe. He wanted his daughter to be happy and it led to her death.

He didn't get whacked. That would have been too simple of a demise for Tony. He had to suffer the true consequence of putting family before family.

The end.

fukk it.

:yeshrug:

Edit* I was like this at the end though, no joke.

It’s all there.

Every time the door rings as someone walks into the diner, it cuts to Tony looking up and then his first person POV. On the last door ring it cuts to him looking up then all black. That’s his POV. He’s dead. Meadow walked and and saw him got shot. There’s even a reference flashback earlier in the episode by Bobby that “I bet you never even hear it” when you get shot in the head.

On repeat viewings the pattern of shots make it pretty obvious Tony is killed.

The Sopranos: Definitive Explanation of "The END"

This read long af but at one point they break it down like frame by frame. I personally believe he was shot. The creator of the show let it skip in an interview and called it the “death scene” or some shyt.

I do think they left it open ended in case of some sort of movie deal or something but Jimmy G passed and that never happened...

They def didn’t clip his daughter lol...in the show they go lengths to say families wouldn’t be touched and irl I can’t think of anyone in the US that’s ever had their daughters targeted as retribution

Still don’t like it. Chase claimed nobody wanted to see Tony being killed because people cared about him :stopitslime: The more I’ve rewatched the show I’ve come to view Tony as less anti-hero and just see him for what he truly was, a piece of shyt.

I thought it was the opposite and he thought the audience wanted to see Tony’s brains blown out and wanted to deny them that satisfaction
