There is nothing that says females can't be superheroes. A good movie is a good movie. A lot of times, they make bad movies.
Captain Marvel as a superhero movie is perfect.
Parts of the first Wonder Woman works as a superhero movie as well as her scenes in Zack Snyder's justice league.
I can't speak on The Marvels because I don't see movies In the theatres, I know the villian is powerful.
1984 was ruined because of WB politics and an anti Snyder agenda, sane thing happened with Shazam 2.
Black Widow was only made because Disney had to justify giving Scar jo more than 20 million dollars for being the cool girl at the nerd table and had to justify it. It was a half hearted effort that failed in translation.
Birds of Prey was some shyt somebody came up with to keep Margot Robbie happy while they were still figuring things out with the Batman franchise, it mostly doesn't work.
A lot of comic book material gas been mistranslated and often time, overused, like the Dark Phoenix storyline. Some stuff should have never been used in the first place.
We cannot say definitely whether or not a women can be a superhero until a trailer cones out.

Everyone thinks Jean Grey/Phoenix is a believable hero and villain, but she earned it, her powerset, stories told over the years, etc. warrants that. Nobody is talking down on wonder woman, storm, all that
But when you got captain marvel being the heaviest hitter in your lineup of heroes nikkas gotta call cap
The women in The Boys are believable and they have superman powers which are hard to translate. And I fully imagine an eventual Spider Gwen movie will be a hit.
Well the women in The Boys are in an ensemble cast and The Boys isn't even really about action. The action scenes in The Boys are mostly terrible, but it's a TV show so believability isn't so much of a factor. Captain Marvel is trying to get grown men to buy tickets off the strength of her name and pedigree. There ain't a Starlight movie coming.
I agree with you about spider gwen, different demo tho. It's easier to get young boys and girls to believe in girl power than grown people, especially grown men.
