Just to add. This is about GAAS in general. Be it PS5 or Xbox. Hell PC.
It's obvious with some of these games someone went in mid development and said we need to monetize more. So instead of making a complete game with multiplayer aspects, they make a multiplayer game with minimal single player content (usually online only)
Look at Anthem for example. Gameplay was fantastic, but the game tanked because the endgame was removed in favor of GAAS features (which sucked)
It feels like execs stepping on the toes of studio heads and devs.
