plenty of games have flopped but they were still available on store shelves

This happens more than you think. Gaming stores will regularly destroy a disc and trash it rather than go through the rigmarole of trying to offload it.

Especially if the game doesn't sell.

Back in the day if you knew an in employee they could give you a heads up..

Platinum business doesn't seem to be right. Gameplay wise, few can do pure action gameplay like them. But they've had some major flops. I think Bayo 3 will do well

Money/resources Square gave em a budget and Platinum wasn’t about to pull from other projects.

A bigger Japanese studio needs to buy them out because this whole make one for them make one for us game plan isn’t gonna let them survive much longer.

Just to add. This is about GAAS in general. Be it PS5 or Xbox. Hell PC.

It's obvious with some of these games someone went in mid development and said we need to monetize more. So instead of making a complete game with multiplayer aspects, they make a multiplayer game with minimal single player content (usually online only)

Look at Anthem for example. Gameplay was fantastic, but the game tanked because the endgame was removed in favor of GAAS features (which sucked)
