Why would anybody want to reboot Good Times? There's nothing funny about a Black family facing setback after setback while struggling to survive in Urban Poverty. Why would they want to glorify our past when we should be looking towards the future? If they want to reboot a Black show, it should be something like the Cosby Show or Fresh Prince of Bel Air. I'm not saying they should completely reboot the shows, but they could expand on the concepts and modernize them under a new show title.

Yeah, the Jeffersons was cool cause Sherman Hemsley was ruthless on em

Yeah a lot of the mystique of those old Norma Lear shows had to do with catching lightning in a bottle when it came to casting the leads of those shows.

Carrol O'Connor & Jean Stapleton as Archie and Edith
Sherman Hemsley & Isabel Sanford as George and Weezie
John Amos & Esther Rolle as James and Florida

That will not be an easy job to recast those roles.

But Good Times was one long ass minstrel show.........:scust: Surprised they not throwing Webster and That's My Mamma out there
The first 1 and half to 2 seasons of Good Times were not as full blown minstrely as the show became afterwards. Initially it was a show about black folks run by a black creative team.
Backstage upheavel pushed the black presence out and then JJ became a bigger presence and the show just started becoming super-c00nish. That is why John Amos left and eventually Esther Rolle skipped out too.
