Damn day one cop no questions asked since it's BC with PS4. it would be nice if previous gens were BC also but it's definitely not necessary. It seems like they ain't fukking around with the power so I wonder if they will do a mid gen refresh. I will say with this announcement they made it harder to budge there base. Only way they can fukk up is make the price absolutely nuts but they already learned there lesson from that.

All they need to do to steal the momentum of E3 is do a conference showcasing the power of PS5 and announce a March 2020 release date.

Sony was known for BC before the PS4, Nintendo and Sega weren't doin that shyt before Playstation. The PS3 cell processor shyt is what killed BC for the PS4. Granted, they could have gone the software emulation route, but the numbers didn't make sense obviously (selfish reasons included).

Gonna be interesting but withe BC I can do what I did with my PS1 and PS2 and use that shyt for trade in credit towards the new console because of the BC.

Honestly I wouldn't mind a higher price if the hardware justifies it. $1000 ceiling, but I wouldn't be mad at a $600 range if it has everything they're talking about here

Not only that but alot of ppl buy new phones through plans which lessens the cost. They have to adjust the price accordingly to the market demand. Let's not forget PS4 was at a great price point when it launched. The most I can see is 499 at launch anything more than that and the competiton is eating there food.

Market has shown that 500 isn't the spot for consoles even though what you said is 100% right.

Outside of the hardcore, the general consumer ain't spending 500......even though they would for a phone. But even then, it's tacked on to most people's bills monthly as part of their plan like @SNG said. Most don't buy phones outright.

Yea I didnt think about the financing options for phones

I just want a REAL NEXT GEN experience, I don't mind paying a premium to ensure that happens. I dont think they can pull it off for less than $500 but we'll see

they might try and weasle a 450 price tag, but I don't see doing that shyt for 500. But they really haven't dropped the price of the PS4 substantially in a while so they're probably using those profits to offset the loss they'll be taking on the Nickel. But with PS4 profit and PSN fees, they'll be okay at 450. I'd pay 500 though.
