The problem with this, is dudes have a lot of revisionist history going on with these stories.
Hov was on WNYU freestyling and flowing the way he did on "Feelin' It" and on "Best of Me", way before Camp Lo even dropped their "Coolie High" single on wax. Two years before. Ski spoke on this mad times. He gave the "Feeling' It" beat to both of them, and other artists and would coach them on how to flow on the beat. But Jay had the record deal and was ready to drop sooner, so he got the beat. When Camp Lo dropped Uptown Saturday Night, they spoke on it and said that Jay's track was better, so they thought he was the one that should have the beat. Ski has always said the same. Jay was rolling with Ski as early as '92 before he even oversaw Camp Lo's music, when Clark and Dame were helping to shop them as rappers. So he always had first pick of Ski's beats, something else Ski has said many times.
Uptown Saturday Night was dope, probably a classic too. Super underrated. I always fukked with their music, I'm a fan of their shyt, but they gotta stop lying, lol. Both dudes in the Lo used to shower Jay with mad praise early on in their careers, and then after he took off, and their careers stalled, that's when they started doing the interviews saying he was biting them and all that. When "Luchini" was popping and they looked like they would sell and Jay was still working his way up, every time they spoke on him, they loved the guy. Then after they fell off, all of a sudden, they started up with throwing little shots. You see that way too much in Hip Hop.
