I thought CD came between 1 and 2
Timeline 1: Sonic 1, CD, 2, 3, S&K, Generations, Mania, Sonic Forces (most recent)
Timeline 2: 3D Sonics but intersect at Generations, most recent is Sonic Forces
Timeline 3: Sonic Boom
CD is before 1 and 2, canon wise. It was when Sonic was learning the Spin Dash, the first introduction to Amy Rose, the first Metal Sonic, and the first time Sonic saved Little Planet.
