Son, why are black tv shows so effin' bad?

Do y'all ever think y'all might be too critical/stuck on what you grew up with or whatever? My timeline was going crazy over that Mary Jane last night and I thought it was pretty good myself.

Most of the shyt y'all like was just regular c00n shyt. Outside of Good Times, Fresh Prince, Martin (a show which I personally think is stupid with bad writing), Cosby's, and A Different World, most of the shyt listed in here is wack as fukk, corny and probably only seems good because you're looking back on it.

I mean, UPN and WB were basically places where shytty shows went to die because it was understood that it was less than good content.

With that said, the best shows of the old generations certainly shyt on the best 'shows' of this generation and yeah, there's something boring when every black 'show' on television has a bunch of pretty black women in expensive fashion, drinking expensive wine, talking about relationships. When did everybody get so damn rich? There's nothing wrong with it, but when it's all you see, it gets creatively stagnant. 'Girlfriends' was the first show to do that and every other 'financial well-off black people with relationship problems' show (or movie) to come out since has been following that show's footsteps. It's just boring.

And when was the last show marketed to black men? Chappelle's Show? It's all been relationship shyt marketed to females since Dave turned down that 50 million...

Show is terrible. It was tolerable when it wasnt on BET, but the shyt has gotten worse every year.

IT's funny you say Girlfriends. The Game is a spinoff of Girlfriends, and back when UPN/WB/CW was doing it it was a cool show. Now that BET tookover that shyt really is trinassh.

I really dont know what happened to black tv. We went from Fresh Prince, Cosby/different world, Martin, Steve Harvey Show, bernie mac, say what you will but even y wife and kids was cool. They need to bring the old UPN, WB programmers back. This cable shyt isnt our wave.

The Game wasn't shyt when EBT picked it up. I know it is the same writers, but the network censors everything. It was better on CW, but that network have a thing about "black shows" being successful

Im really questioning if it's the same writers to be honest. It does not have the same "feel" as it did. The entire original cast is about to be good as gone too (Malik, Jason, and Tasha the only ones left).

This thread just made me realize that I don't watch any black shows. But Then again, the ones I do watch, be the ratchet ones..damn Both love and hip hops. The sitcoms are garbage. Them corny ass TBS shows are garbonzo. I aint a promotin ass dude, but these webisodes is the networks right now.

Damn shame Fox passed on it cuz they didn't think Chris Rock would be committed, SMH.

Church. My issue with black comedies are the c00n factors. Now make no mistake c00ns are a part of reality but the actors who portrays em are bad. JJ from good times was authentic. Hemel was authentic and funny. Renaldo waldo faldo was funny. Those cats on them Tyler Perry joints just have funny moments. Another thing is the generic production. I swear niccas have the worst laugh tracks in history. sets look like plays. I want Shonda rhimes to do a "black" show. She's dope
