Just wanted to give an update. He’s doing a lot better now. He was baseline after a few hours in the hospital and like his normal self. Docs said his febrile seizure was caused by a spiked fever so we’re giving him Motrin and antibiotics they prescribed. We’re going to follow up with a neurologist in a few days to cover all our bases.

Definitely feel more at ease hearing all your guys stories and experiences and makes me not feel so anxious for him in the future.

Appreciate all your guys well wishes and prayers Coli fam :salute:

Glad he's doing well :salute:

For all my posters out there with young kids keep a close eye. Happens when they’re around 3 and under apparently and is caused from a spiked fever.

My son is 2 and woke up screaming around 2am. Was having a febrile seizure. Rushed him to the ER. Cried like a big bytch in front of all the staff because I thought he was gonna die :francis:

He’s doing a lot better now, but just a PSA to all the new parents to keep a close eye on their babies.
Glad he’s okay now, that’s scary. Did you give him any medicine like baby Tylenol to bring his fever down?

I’ve seen this a lot. It‘s nothing to be concerned about as long the onset is due to a fever. Typically kids get discharged the same day from the ER when this happens. It is a medical emergency though. Make sure he’s getting the correct dose of Tylenol and Motrin. Its a bad viral season.

Glad to hear he's doing better. :blessed:
One of my homeboy's son had a couple of seizures at that same age. It was a constant monitoring of his body temperature until he got to over 3.
He said it was one of the scariest things he's ever encountered and will humble you real quick.

I'm really sorry that happened. I hope everything is good, and it was just part of the fever. Things can get very scary when its out children and were helpless. Trust me, I live with it every single day if my life. And don't feel a ways about crying. It's natural. That's an extension of you. Really hope everything is good for you guys moving forward. Salute and hugs to your little one
