i know febrile seizures can happen with fever. you should have him tested for epilepsy especially if it runs in your family. it runs in mine and i started getting myoclonic jerks around 29-30. ive only had one seizure and the threshold for epilepsy is two. i really dont want to lose my drivers license.

have him tested asap. hopefully it was just from the fever.

For all my posters out there with young kids keep a close eye. Happens when they’re around 3 and under apparently and is caused from a spiked fever.

My son is 2 and woke up screaming around 2am. Was having a febrile seizure. Rushed him to the ER. Cried like a big bytch in front of all the staff because I thought he was gonna die :francis:

He’s doing a lot better now, but just a PSA to all the new parents to keep a close eye on their babies.
I had childhood epilepsy around age 7. growing out of it in 2 years. Had to take Dilantin during that time

prayers to your son

I have seizures too if I skip my medicine for it

I thank God that someone was around whenever I get em

for me, I don't feel any pain, I black out then I wake up with people standing over me

OP, did the docs find out what the reason for the seizures are ?

my ex wife has a seizure disorder, so I been thru this. My youngest, who's now 15 had seizures when she was like 2, but grew out of them and it hasn't happened since.

my oldest NEVER had seizures until maybe the last 2 years, and now she's on medication for it.

shyt is really scary the first time when you've never seen it before.
Yeah im like your oldest. I have simple complex partial seizures. Developed at 24 but I fractured my skull in two places when I was 7 so that's what they believe brought it on. I'm on medicine and don't get any thankfully as long as I sleep and don't partake in things that lower my threshold. Luckily i can still drive.

I would still go see an epilepsy specialist if I was op just for peace of mind. A lot of misunderstanding/misconceptions on epilepsy/seizures. You can still live a normal life.

Just wanted to give an update. He’s doing a lot better now. He was baseline after a few hours in the hospital and like his normal self. Docs said his febrile seizure was caused by a spiked fever so we’re giving him Motrin and antibiotics they prescribed. We’re going to follow up with a neurologist in a few days to cover all our bases.

Definitely feel more at ease hearing all your guys stories and experiences and makes me not feel so anxious for him in the future.

Appreciate all your guys well wishes and prayers Coli fam :salute:
