For all my posters out there with young kids keep a close eye. Happens when they’re around 3 and under apparently and is caused from a spiked fever.

My son is 2 and woke up screaming around 2am. Was having a febrile seizure. Rushed him to the ER. Cried like a big bytch in front of all the staff because I thought he was gonna die :francis:

He’s doing a lot better now, but just a PSA to all the new parents to keep a close eye on their babies.

my ex wife has a seizure disorder, so I been thru this. My youngest, who's now 15 had seizures when she was like 2, but grew out of them and it hasn't happened since.

my oldest, who's 21, NEVER had seizures until maybe the last 2 years, and now she's on medication for it.

shyt is really scary the first time when you've never seen it before.

sorry to hear, but my son has had the same thing. And has had a couple over the years. Doctor just says , as long as a seizure is accompanied by a fever and doesn’t last too long and they don’t have a series of them in one day, you can handle it at home and monitor your child unless you of course feel super concerned and it’s violent, but if it is continuous for a extended period of time, then take him to the ER. You did the right thing of course. We took our son to ER first time too. Super scary. If it ever happens and he does not have a fever, make sure to take him to the doctor immediately, because that’s when you are looking at epilepsy. Don’t panic tho man, alot of kids get them, so it doesn’t necessarily mean he will have epilepsy. But don’t be suprised if he has another one in the future. It usually happens once at a certain age and then can happen again at another as well . So don’t be too worried bro

Febrile seizures are extremely common. But not serious. Don't let some jackass doctor tell you your child has epilepsy, or had a diabetic seizure from too much juice because he was sick. A lot of doctors will wave off a childhood seizure if a kid has a fever. It's scary the first time.

Yeah that happened to my niece when she was about that age. Had a high fever and suddenly had a seizure when I was babysitting her, I kept calm and just made sure she was breathing but still called an ambulance. Scared the hell out of me but she was fine right after. Especially in kids three and under always take a fever seriously even it’s just a slight one. Glad your son is doing well.
