First off this isnt a troll thread I'm dead the fukk serious. Secondly, I'm making a greater point with this thread. I think we often overrate certain rappers due to lyrical ability when there are many more factors that play into what a rap artist is. In my view, I think Biggie is grossly overrated due to the beef with Pac and because he rapped in the era he rapped in and managed to be one of its most noteworthy stars....again I'd give a portion of that credit to Pac's influence on him with another portion going to Puff. How can a nikka with only 2 albums be in anyone's top 5? Why not throw in Big L while we're at it? He was also a lyrical beast from NYC that died too soon.
Meanwhile, Project Pat as a song maker is excellent in many respects, his albums have had FAR superior production, and his delivery is unique and highly effective. Pat has multiple storytelling tracks, all on par or better than Warning. Perhaps Pat isn't the lyrical wizard that Big was but like I said in another post its nikkaz like Canibus and Ras Kass that are super lyrical but that never translated into shyt. Eminem is better lyrically than Scarface, are we about to say he's better than Scarface tho? To me, I'd compare this to a singer that has a dynamic voice and is ok everywhere else vs a singer that is a more well rounded artist. If you actually listened to Project Pat in your life then this is honestly a great question.
shyt, Styles is better than Big. I know he wouldn't say it outta homage but I will. :hugoehh:
