Somebody made a highlight tape of Luka Doncic's NBA Finals defense. It's impressive.

This fat euro getting put in a blender on the biggest stage :banderas:
Been telling all the Mavs fans for a minute now Luka ain't shyt but smoke and mirrors. He's a soft just like Dirk was, maybe he'll luck out just like Dirk and get a team around him of real dogs to win him one late in his career just like Dirk did.

That 2011 run saved Dirk's reputation. 3/4 years between those two Finals runs were . Getting dropped off in the first round

Yeah, the thing is time is tricky right now.

A lot of teams are looking ready after some good play-off experience. Then there are teams like the Spurs who you can imagine are one or two seasons away with Wemby. Kyrie ain't going to be around much longer either and it's not guaranteed dude will get another offensive player that good around him again.

It's not just about the player in a vacuum, but about the state of the league around them as well. This is Luka's window basically. There is some really good talent around the league right now.

He's eeass

You can't be THAT bad on defense.

Curry improved to where he was a neutral and good enough to hide.

Magic also could hide on bigs at least, and was not slow as fukk

Jokic managed to avoid teams that could effectively drive to the paint, and he at least made an effort to seal the paint last year.

But Luka? He's ass. No speed, quickness, and he's busy bytching at referees instead of playing D

Not to dogpile, but cats were calling him generational. Heard it over and over and over again by NBA Twitter.

Well, when you're in your prime and have this kind of performance you better be prepared to live up to that tag. You shouldn't have this many flaw if people say you're a mix of LeBron, Kobe and Curry, have all those pictures with Jordan all while your fans disrespect an older Kawhi.

IDGAF. Giannis still the best player in the league to me. I was never phased by Jokic or Luka like that because to me, you can't call yourself the best player in the league without being good-to-elite on both ends of the floor. Both of them are below average.

Yeah to me it's still between Jokic and Giannis. Jokic can hold the paint when he absolutely has to.

However, you always got to account for where Giannis is on defense and that's a constant factor on a player's mental stack. It makes the game that much tougher to play. People really overlook how much of a factor that is. Jrue and Giannis on the same team was basically like the defensive version of Murray and Jokic on offense.
